The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø is seeking nominations and applications for the Editor in Chief designate of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing (JPPM). JPPM is the preeminent public policy outlet in the marketing field.

The Editor in Chief (EIC) will serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2026, resulting in the publication of the 2027–2029 calendar-year volumes of the journal. The EIC designate will begin review of new manuscripts beginning in the first quarter of 2026. Major criteria for evaluating candidates are the following:

  2. Prior publication(s) in JPPM
  3. Editorial experience (as EIC, Co-Editor, or AE)
  4. Significant recent research productivity

  6. Breadth of topics and methods
  7. Record of research impact
  8. History of ethical behavior

Nominations, including self-nominations, should be submitted, by June 15, 2025, to ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Publications VP Roland Rust at rrust@umd.edu with a copy to Marilyn Stone at mstone@ama.org. At this stage, only the name of the nominee is required.  Also, there is no need to provide the names of any potential editorial team members during this initial phase of the nomination process. All nominees will be contacted to ascertain interest.  A Selection Committee of prominent scholars will then choose a short list of 2-3 candidates, who will then submit a 5-page position paper, followed by an interview with the Selection Committee.

Based on current ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø policy, the Selection Committee consists of ÂÜÀòÉç¹Ù꿉۪s Vice President for Publications (Chair), a past editor of JMR, a representative of ÂÜÀòÉç¹Ù꿉۪s Academic Council, two at-large members, and a member of ÂÜÀòÉç¹Ù꿉۪s professional publications staff.
