Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in a Special Session on “Digital Responsibility and Responsible AI in Marketing” at the EMAC 2026 Conference in Bath.

This interactive workshop brings together senior scholars, thought leaders, and junior researchers to collaboratively explore emerging challenges and research opportunities related to digital responsibility. Topics include (but are not limited to) privacy, human autonomy, transparency, human–AI alignment, and the broader societal implications of AI-driven marketing practices.

The session features:

  • Short impulse presentations by leading scholars highlighting key research gaps
  • A highly interactive “speed-dating” format, where participants can pitch ideas and receive focused feedback
  • Opportunities for collaborative discussion in thematic focus groups (depending on participant numbers)
  • The possibility to contribute to a joint, agenda-setting publication on responsible AI and digital responsibility in marketing

Confirmed invited speakers include:

Dipayan (Dip) Biswas (University of South Florida), Michael Haenlein (ESCP Business School Paris), Ming-Hui Huang (National Taiwan University), Kelly Martin (Colorado State University), Ana Martinez Valenzuela (ESADE Business School), Jochen Wirtz (National University of Singapore), and Klaus Wertenbroch (INSEAD).

We warmly encourage researchers at all career stages—especially junior scholars—to join this collaborative and forward-looking session.
