Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Columbia Business School lost a respected colleague and dear friend on December 23, 2025. Don Lehmann was at Columbia for 54 years, was a highly esteemed Columbia Business School faculty member, a legend in the field, and a mentor, colleague, friend, and coach to many.
We will be holding two events at Columbia in tribute to Don. The first will be a Celebration of the Life of Donald R. Lehmann. This will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, March 30, 2026, at St. Paul’s Chapel on the Morningside Heights campus. This will be followed by a reception at Buell Hall, nearby, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. We would welcome all who knew Don to join his colleagues in celebrating his tremendous contributions to the School, University, and the field.
We ask that anyone who wishes to attend the memorial event by Thursday, March 26, 2026. In order to access the Columbia campus, we will need your name and email address ahead of the event. You can access the campus at the intersection of 116th St. and Amsterdam Avenue or 116th St. and Broadway Avenue. .
Later, on May 2nd, we will have a one-day academic conference at the Business School to honor Don’s contributions to the field at large. Details will be forthcoming, but we plan on an interesting set of panels and talks followed by a dinner.
