MASSIG Activities in Madrid at the Winter ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Conference

1. MASSIG Special Session at Winter ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø

Join us for the MASSIG Special Session, “Displaced Consumers: Reimagining Marketing’s Role in Inclusion and Well-Beingâ€on Saturday, February 14, 3:30 – 5:00 pm at the Winter ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Conference in Madrid. Session Chairs – Sertan Kabadayi, Linda Alkire, and Shashi Matta – will moderate a discussion that includes three research paper presentations from scholars including Karine Aoun Barakat, Amy Greiner Fehl, Martina Hutton, Maximilian Bauer, and Rajeev Gopalakrishnan. These research papers span Syrian refugees, internal migrant workers in India, and prison leavers. Across these domains, the focus is on how displacement reconfigures access, capability development, and identity work, and on how practitioners and policy makers can convert exclusionary arrangements into enabling ones.

2.MASSIG Informal Dinner Meetup

We invite MASSIG members who would like to meet in an informal setting to join us for dinner on Saturday, February 14. We can meet in the hotel lobby at 8:15 pm, and walk over to a nearby restaurant that serves Basque cuisines (Asador 7 de Julio, Address: Av. del Ingeniero Conde de Torroja, 1, San Blas-Canillejas, 28022 Madrid). Their kitchen opens at 8:30 pm, and we’ve made a reservation for 10 people starting at 8:30 pm. A starter and a main entrée will be between 25-30 €. Join us to meet fellow MASSIG members
