Workshop Overview
This in-person Paper Development Workshop (PDW) is designed to support scholars with working manuscripts with the objective of eventual submission to the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM). The workshop emphasizes constructive, developmental feedback through a combination of short presentations and interactive small-group sessions, allowing participants to refine theoretical positioning, research design, and contribution. The goals of the workshop are to: (a) help authors avoid desk rejection at JPIM, (b) increase the likelihood of success during the review and revision process, and (c) assist authors in determining the fit between their manuscripts and JPIM.
ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍøt the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM)
The Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM) is the leading scholarly journal dedicated to the study of innovation and new product development. JPIM publishes high-quality research that advances theory and practice related to innovation processes, outcomes, and management across organizational and institutional contexts. The journal is interdisciplinary in scope and welcomes diverse theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches.
ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍøt the Host Institution
EGADE Business School, Tecnológico de Monterrey, is widely recognized as a reference institution in Latin America for management education and research excellence. It is among a select group of business schools worldwide to hold triple crown accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS). With a strong emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship, and global engagement, EGADE provides an ideal academic setting for high-level scholarly exchange. Hosting the JPIM PDW reflects EGADE’s commitment to fostering impactful research and international collaboration in innovation management.
Submission and Participation
We are seeking manuscripts that have made significant progress in their development, ideally with data collection and analysis partially or fully completed, rather than early-stage projects. Interested authors are invited to submit an extended abstract of no more than 10 double-spaced pages, including figures, tables, and references. The extended abstract should clearly articulate the manuscript’s intended contribution, research questions, and research design and methods. A cover page listing the names and affiliations of all co-authors must be included. To enhance sustainability and accessibility, priority may be given (all else being equal) to applicants affiliated with universities and research institutions in Latin America and neighboring regions.
Submissions using any type of data (qualitative, experimental data, secondary data etc.) or method of analyses are welcome, provided they address topics relevant to innovation management. In line with JPIM’s mission, interdisciplinary research approaches are encouraged. Junior faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and authors who have not yet published in JPIM are particularly encouraged to apply. Due to limited capacity, submission of an extended abstract does not guarantee participation.
