The Society for the Science of Motivation (SSM) is inviting submissions to its 18th Annual Meeting, which will take place on May 28th, 2026, at the Hotel Vincci Mar穩timo in Barcelona in conjunction with the 38th Annual Meeting of the Association for Psychological Science (APS).The conference will feature two keynotes from Prof. David Melnikoff and Prof. Susann Fiedler on two hot topics: conscious and unconscious processes, and the significance of theory building and development.
The SSM welcomes theory-based and data-driven submissions, as talks or posters, on any innovative and thought-provoking topics related to motivation. Two parallel tracks will offer ample opportunities for discussing motivation research from diverse fields.When submitting, please indicate if your contribution fits within one of our hot topics.

Supporting early career researchersis a priority for SSM. To facilitate participation for students, doctoral candidates, and post-doctoral fellows serving as first author contributors, we are awarding travel grants of US $500 each. We especially encourage applications from those who might otherwise be unable to attend. To apply, please use the submission portal link above and upload your CV as well as a brief statement describing your financial need and how receiving this travel award would make it possible for you to attend the meeting.
