ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Retail & Pricing SIG – CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Retail & Pricing SIG welcomes applications for the following awards, which will be presented at the 2026 Winter ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Educators Conference (February 13-15, Madrid, Spain). Award details and application procedures are outlined below.
The deadline for applications is November 24, 2025.
IMPORTANT – Nominees for all awards should be a member of the Retail and Pricing SIG of the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø (ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø) at the time of application, and the nomination letter should specifically mention this point. Members of the SIG leadership team are not eligible for awards during their tenure. Past winners are also ineligible for the same award category.
Please submit nominations to sjha1@memphis.edu and janakira@uta.edu with the ‘subject line’ of the email mentioning one of [Lifetime Achievement Award 2026], [Emerging Scholar Award 2026], [Mentoring Award 2026], [Service Award 2026], [Best Retail or Pricing Paper Award 2026], or [Retail or Pricing Doctoral Student Award 2026].
Award Details and Application Procedures
1. Lifetime Achievement Award
This award honors a scholar who has contributed significantly to research in the field of Retailing and/or Pricing. Nominations (self-nominations are welcome) should include a cover letter demonstrating the candidate’s significant contributions, and a current CV. Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of distinguished retailing scholars. Applicants should be full professors, with at least 20 years of academic experience post PhD.
2. Emerging Scholar Award
The award acknowledges emerging scholars (received PhD in 2018, or later) who have made significant contributions to research in the areas of Retailing and/or Pricing. Nominations (self-nominations are welcome) should include a cover letter as to why the nominee is a good candidate for this award, and a current CV.
3. Noble/Grewal/Gundlach Mentoring Award
This award is to recognize outstanding mentors. Nominees should be exceptional mentors to doctoral students or junior scholars. Nominations (self-nominations are welcome) should include a cover letter explaining why the nominee is a good candidate for the award, include a current CV. Preference will be given to applications that also include at least one letter of recommendation from a mentee, attesting to the nominee’s mentorship of doctoral students and/or junior scholars.
4. Service Award
This award is to honor individuals who have exceeded expectations for their rank in terms of service to retailing and/or pricing. The nominee should have demonstrated exceptional service to the fields of retailing and/or pricing. Nominations, including self- nominations, should include a cover letter explaining why the nominee is a good candidate for the award, and also include a current CV highlighting service appointments.
5. Best Retail and Pricing Paper Award
This award is to recognize a paper that has made a significant contribution to the retail or pricing literature. The paper should have been published in the previous calendar year (i.e., 2024) in an English language marketing journal. Nominations, including self- nominations, should include a cover letter explaining why the paper’s contribution merits an award. Please also attach a PDF of the published paper.
6. Retail and Pricing Doctoral Student Award
This award is to recognize a doctoral student for outstanding research related to retailing and/or pricing. The nominee should be a current doctoral student or a recent graduate (PhD completed on or after Jan. 1, 2024) who has developed outstanding research in retailing and/or pricing. Nominations (self-nominations are welcome) should include a cover letter explaining why the nominee is a good candidate for the award, and current CV.
