NOMINATIONS FOR 2025 ISMS BOARD ELECTIONS

Dear ISMS Members:

On behalf of the ISMS Board, thank you for your participation in, and contribution to, ISMS activities.

It is time for the 2025 ISMS Board elections for positions with a two-year term 2026-27. The current terms of five Board members will end on December 31, 2025. Please consider volunteering to serve on the Board. Here are the positions up for election:

  1. President-elect (Preyas Desai will transition to President).
  2. Secretary (currently Raji Srinivasan, who is term limited).
  3. VP Electronic Communication (currently YeÅŸim Orhan, who is not standing for re-election).
  4. VP External Relations (currently Simon Blanchard, who is running for a second term).
  5. VP Practice (currently Lan Luo, who is term limited).

The VP Membership position (currently Abhi Borah, who is term limited) and VP DEI (currently Sha Yang) position are being transitioned into the new VP Membership Outreach and Engagement. Sha will complete her first two-year term in this position, which will be up for election in 2026.

The deadline for nominations is October 20, 2025, with elections taking place soon after. The nominating committee consists of Kusum Ailawadi (Chair and Past-President), Doug Bowman (President), and Preyas Desai (President-Elect).

Please send nominations (including self-nominations) for any of these positions to Kusum Ailawadi at Kusum.L.Ailawadi@tuck.dartmouth.edu. Please confirm that your nominee has agreed to run for the position before you send in a nomination.

Your nominations will help ensure that ISMS stays healthy and productive. As you know, the Board does the following, among other things:

  • Organizes the annual ISMS Doctoral Consortium.
  • Oversees the annual ISMS Marketing Science Conference.
  • Organizes the ISMS Early Career Camp.
  • Awards up to $50,000 in doctoral research support grants/awards.
  • Provides financial support for the Marketing Science
  • Manages the Bass, Little, Morrison, and Buck Weaver awards and the Lilien practice prize.
  • Sponsors workshops and conferences of interest to the ISMS community.
  • Keeps members abreast of events, opportunities, and news related to marketing science research through the ISMS newsletter and website.

Who can vote? According to our bylaws, only those who are members of both ISMS and INFORMS are eligible to hold office and eligible to vote. Please make sure your memberships in both are current. Also, please update your email contact info in your membership profile as needed, so that you receive the election emails from INFORMS.

I can strongly attest that serving on the board is personally satisfying and great way to give back to our field. I hope that you will consider nominating yourself or a colleague. Thank you in advance for your help.
