🛬 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø DocSIG Webinar: From airport runway to social runs: Job Market Flyout Survival Guide with Melissa Baucum, Kaan Canayaz, and Michael Jenkins

The academic flyout is not just an interview—it’s an elaborately choreographed, two- or even three-day performance that puts your research, teaching, stamina, social skills, and table manners under the spot light on the stage — all at once.

You’ll meet everyone: the dean, department chair, senior and junior faculty, administrative staff, graduate students, undergraduates—even lunch companions with hidden veto power. From the second your plane takes off to the second your head finally hits the pillow, YOU ARE ON. There’s no off-stage.

This webinar will help demystify what’s ahead and prepare you to thrive, not just survive!

Our experienced panel will share their experience in:

– What to expect from a typical flyout schedule
– How to prepare for the research presentation and teaching demo
– Questions candidates are likely to receive—and should be ready to ask
– Professional etiquette and behavioral expectations
– Self-presentation strategies, including dress, dining, and interpersonal interactions
– Practical tips for managing energy and making a positive, lasting impression
