We are thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2025 Louis W. Stern Award, presented by the 鈥檚 Interorganizational SIG (IOSIG). This prestigious award, established in 1999 through a generous endowment by Louis W. and Rhona L. Stern, honors a published article that has made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of interorganizational marketing and channels of distribution.

The committee notes that the paper is highly original. The US government spends about 36% of US GDP or about $10 trillion dollars. The paper documents how exchanges with governments, B2G exchanges, differ fundamentally from B2B exchanges and proceeds to, using interviews and secondary data, provide evidence on firm value and risk. The paper breaks new ground by introducing governments as an object of study, broadening the traditional domain of interorganizational relationships. The paper also provides new theorizing and thinking.
