Shape the Future of the Who-Went-Where Report

For 22 years, ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø DocSIG’s Who-Went-Where report has been a vital resource—supporting job market transparency, informing tenure letter writers, and helping dismantle barriers for marginalized scholars.

Now, we’re overhauling the report for the 2024–25 cycle—and we need your input.

Each year, schools request tailored refinements to our tables. Recently, one R1 institution asked us to break down average salaries by research area and school type to justify a budget request to their provost (table 17). That feedback prompted us to expand the report’s granularity by institution type:

What improvements matter to you? Which tables are most useful—as a candidate, a faculty member, or a hiring institution? Are there new metrics we should capture to better reflect the post-COVID job market?

Please send your ideas—or even an annotated copy of the report—to DocSIG Chair Julia van de Sandt (julia.vandesandt@grad.moore.sc.edu) and Vice Chair for Research Reza Pedarpour (rpedarpo@kent.edu) by June 1.
