ACR Pre-Conference on EVALUATING PHYSIOLOGICAL MEASURES FOR CONSUMER WELFARE AND MARKET BEHAVIOR

In this pre-conference, co-sponsored by JACR, the University of Arizona, and the Consumer Neuroscience research initiative, prepare for a deep-dive into how consumer physiology—spanning measures like smart-watch data, eye tracking, facial encoding, and fMRI—can revolutionize our understanding of consumer behavior and well-being. We will explore how physiological insights can enrich consumer behavior theory, guide data-driven marketing strategies, and offer deeper emotional and motivational clarity, while also examining critical concerns such as privacy, consumer adoption of wearable tech, and potential unintended consequences of physiological data collection. Join leading scholars to discuss cutting-edge methods, debate practical and ethical implications, and shape the next frontier of consumer research. Attendees will be considered for opportunities to publish their work in a JACR issue on the same topic. At this pre-conference, the JACR issue editors will offer pre-submission feedback to help prospective authors improve their submissions. However, this feedback will not be a definitive screening and we will consider any paper that is submitted through the regular process.
