2025 Marketing Strategy SIG Doctoral Student Research Awards

The Marketing Strategy Special Interest Group of the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø is pleased to announce that it seeks proposals for competitive research grants from doctoral students whose research is focused on issues related to strategic marketing.ÌýThe SIG will announce multiple grants of $250-$500 each. The awardees will have an opportunity to present their paper at a special session at the Summer ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Conference, 2026.

The program seeks to encourage research in the domain of marketing strategy.ÌýÌýWhile we are open to all methodological paradigms, the focus will remain on issues related to decision-making within firms concerning topics related to innovation, channels, product management, and implementation of other marketing programs.

ÌýFormatting Guidelines

All research grant proposals are to be submittedÌýas a pdf document.ÌýÌýThe amount requested should be $500 or less.

The pdf document should be structured as follows:

  1. Statement of Research
  2. Results to Date
  3. Research Plan for the Future
  4. Potential Insights for Managerial Decision-Making
  5. References
  6. Tables and Figures
  7. Need for funding – explain in detail (itemized, if possible)
  8. List any other sources of funding

The submission should be no longer than 1500 words in total.ÌýÌýThe word limit does not include tables and figures, which should be included in the document.

Please format your grant proposal according to theÌýJournal of MarketingÌýstyle guidelines ()

Submission

ApplicantsÌýmustÌýbe current members of the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Marketing Strategy SIG, and NOT be previous winners of the doctoral support award (a PhD student can only win this award once).

The SIG leadership will review all submitted proposals and make decisions by May 26th, 2025.ÌýThe SIG’s objectives of promoting research in marketing strategy and rigor and relevance will be used to judge the proposals.
