2025 DocSIG Mathew Joseph Mentor Award

DocSIG invites its doctoral student members to nominate a scholar for the 2025 DocSIG Mathew Joseph Mentorship Award by Tuesday, Dec. 3rd at 5 PM ET

The 蹤獲扦夥厙 Doctoral Student Special Interest Group (DocSIG) is pleased to receive nominations for the 2025 DocSIG Mathew Joseph Mentor Award. Recipients of this award are recognized as distinguished mentors for their extensive contributions to doctoral students careers. Marketing professors who provide outstanding mentorship and meet the following criteria may be nominated for the 2025 DocSIG Mathew Joseph Mentor Award:

Nominators (those submitting the application) must be a current doctoral student enrolled in an AACSB-accredited Ph.D. program in marketing or business administration-marketing, and

Nominators (everyone contributing a recommendation to the package) must be a current member of the 蹤獲扦夥厙 Doctoral Student Special Interest Group

Nominees must be marketing professors who have served at least five years as faculty, and

Nominees must provide outstanding mentorship beyond what is expected for their position.

To submit a nomination, please provide a letter outlining the nominees qualification for the award. This letter should detail how the nominee has served as an outstanding mentor to doctoral students, including specific mentoring activities, the number of doctoral students advised, mentoring programs, service to the broader doctoral student community etc. Deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 3rd at 5 PM ET. After the nomination deadline passes, members of the award committee will individually review and rank applications. The award committee will be composed of a mix of distinguished faculty and current DocSIG leadership and will not include faculty members from universities of nominees. The award will be presented at the 2025 Winter Academic Conference in Phoenix, AZ. Ideally, the award recipient will be recognized and receive the award in person. Thus, the recipient of the 2025 DocSIG Mathew Joseph Mentor Award is highly encouraged to attend the conference. Immediate past winners include Alex Zablah (University of Tennessee, 2024), Maura Scott (Arizona State University, 2023), and Mark Houston (Texas Christian University, 2021).
