| Dear friends and colleagues,
Im writing to share with you the very sad news眩hat皋ur colleague and friend Daniel Korschun, DBA, associate professor, Cozen Research Scholar and department head of marketing, passed away last Wednesday due to complications from cancer. Daniel was a beloved member of the LeBow and University community. He will be remembered as kind, generous and thoughtful. As helpful as he was kind, he was always willing to share advice with a student (or a pass of the soccer ball in warm weather), his time for an advertising shoot for the College, and even an espresso with a colleague. Daniel came to LeBow in 2008 after completing his doctorate at Boston University.浴uring his time at Drexel, he won both the LeBow狼eaching Excellence涉ward and the Universitys涉llen爹othwarf涉ward病or Teaching Excellence.浹e received a Fulbright grant in 2018 to conduct research in Italy and teach at LUISS in Rome, and he received additional grants from Zendesk,眩he Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative and Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation. He was a widely published author and scholar on corporate social responsibility and corporate political activities and served as associate editor at the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing and as an editorial board member of Journal of Business Research, Journal of Service Research畝紳餃Business and Society.浹is book, We Are Market Basket, told the true story of a grassroots movement to reinstate a beloved CEO and save a $4.5 billion supermarket chain, highlighting how a meaningful workplace can unify and motivate employees. The book was named a top 15 business book of 2015 by Forbes. His charisma and great way of explaining what most would consider hard-to-talk-about subjects in an unbiased way made him regularly sought out as a media expert, being featured in numerous outlets including CNN, The New York Times, NPR and the Washington Post. Daniel also regularly spoke at company, industry and academic conferences. Daniels commitment to his students was unmatched. He was a devoted educator and felt that the connection to his students was a lifetime commitment. He invited them to contact him at any point in their careers for professional or personal advice, encouragement and updates on accomplishments. He called this the Korschun Lifetime Guarantee. His family would like to maintain this tradition by continuing to provide an outlet for his students and colleagues. They have created an email account which will be monitored by his wife, Marta, and sisters, Camille and Suzanne. Feel free to reach out to them at korschunguarantee@gmail.com and share your thoughts and memories of Daniel. They would love to stay in touch! We are all shocked and deeply saddened by Daniel’s untimely passing.浹is strong presence in the department and College will be greatly missed.
