Shunyuan Zhang鈥檚 Dissertation-based Article Wins 2024 Don Lehmann Award

A three-member committee of renowned marketing scholars has selected Shunyuan Zhang鈥檚 dissertation-based article as the winner of 2024 Don Lehmann Award.聽 This year there was a large number of entries for the award and given the high quality of entries, the committee also selected a runner-up for the award. The details follow.

Shunyuan Zhang is Assistant Professor of Business Administration in the Marketing unit at Harvard Business School and the citation of her award-winning article is:

Zhang, Shunyuan; Lee, Dokyun; Singh, Param; and Mukhopadhyay, Tridas (2022), “Demand Interactions in Sharing Economies: Evidence from a Natural Experiment Involving Airbnb and Uber/Lyft,” Journal of Marketing Research, 59 2), 374-391.

Georgia Liadeli鈥檚 dissertation-based article was selected as the runner-up. Georgia (Ph.D, Vrije University Amsterdam) will join the marketing department at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management as Assistant Professor in August. The citation of her article is as follows:

Liadeli, Georgia; Sotgiu, Francesca; and Verlegh, Peeter W J (2023) 鈥淎 Meta-Analysis of the Effects of Brands鈥� Owned Social Media on Social Media Engagement and Sales,鈥� Journal of Marketing, 87 (3), 406-427.

The Lehmann Award, established in 1997 in honor of Prof. Donald R. Lehmann, Professor of Marketing at Columbia University recognizes the Best Dissertation-based Article published in the Journal of Marketing or Journal of Marketing Research. This annual award is nominated by any member of the academic community and selected by the Marketing Research SIG Awards Committee. This year鈥檚 committee received seventeen excellent nominations, resulting in a competitive pool.

The winner and runner-up will be recognized at the MR SIG reception and award ceremony during the Summer 萝莉社官网 Conference in Boston. MR SIG welcomes you to the reception, which will be held on August 17th from 5:30-6:30pm.
