Empowering Digital Transformation
The Greek Marketing Academy (GMA) and the Global Alliance of Marketing & Management Associations (GAMMA) are hosting a Joint Symposium in the . The Symposium seeks to elaborate on Marketing & Management Transformation in the Age of Digital Challenges, the theme of the 2025 GMC. The main conference theme emphasizes the need for educators and business leaders to recognize, appreciate, and understand the significance of marketing and management transformation happening globally in the challenging digital world including rapid advancement of new technologies, different cultures and cross-cultural business applications, as they affect both domestic and multinational marketing strategies.
Following the success of the GMA-GAMMA Joint Symposia of 2020 and 2023 and the publication of the 2023 proceedings in a book entitled, in the Scopus indexed Series, we are now calling for Papers for the 2025 GMA-GAMMA Joint Symposium Beyond digital transformation: Engaging and empowering People, integrating Processes and Platforms and Book Chapters for the book Empowering Digital Transformation to be published in 2025.
The 2025 GMA-GAMMA Joint Symposium aims to showcase cutting edge research that goes beyond simply documenting the process and effects of digital transformation and focuses on what marketing and management can do to engage and empower people whilst efficiently integrating processes and platforms.
Digital Transformation is mostly being presented as a synonym of progress and a one-way street to a much-desired status. Little work, however, has been carried out, so far, on the psychological, societal, cultural, economic, and policy aspects of the ongoing digital transformation which is unfolding at varying speeds across markets, industries, economies, governance systems, and societies. The symposium and book focus on how we can achieve a human-first digital transformation by empowering people and integrating processes and platforms in a way that leads to sustainable prosperity for all. Our goal is to equip researchers and decisionmakers with the necessary tools to navigate the increasingly blurring boundaries between humans and computers, businesses, institutions and society, operations, marketing and management, and the coexisting structures of the traditional, service, platform, attention, and experience economies.
We are seeking symposium papers that will stimulate a vibrant discussion and book chapters that will challenge orthodoxies. Thus, we invite empirical research, case studies, and conceptualisations which can support researchers, educators, business leaders, and policymakers in understanding the multifaceted effects of digital transformation and better managing its externalities. We particularly encourage work on underrepresented markets, industries, business ecosystems, economies, governance systems, and societies.
Ideally, we would like to both discuss your work in person at the Symposium and have it published in the book but if you cannot make it to Hong Kong, we would happily consider the book chapter only. Conference papers that will be submitted as chapters for the book will be published in the main conference proceedings, so they need to be submitted to the conference as abstracts only. All submissions will undergo separate rigorous double-blind review processes.
