ÌýManagerially and Societally Relevant Research/JAMS Special Session
Session Overview/Objectives
Relevance is a mindset from idea generation to knowledge dissemination. The purpose of this special session is to provide attendees with guidance on how to craft ideas and manuscripts (and ultimately dissemination) that have relevance for key stakeholders, including managers, employees, customers, society, etc.Ìý Much has been written about bridging the gap between academic research and practitioners (e.g., Lilien 2011, Vosburgh 2022; Ang et al. 2023), implying a lack of relevance between the two.Ìý This session will highlight faculty who embrace working with companies and practitioners to enhance the relevance of their findings and will offer tips and suggestions for helping audience participants to enhance the relevance of their research.
