Humanity and Vulnerability

The Center for Empirical Philosophy and Behavioral Insights (CEPBI) is comprised of a group of researchers interested in the intersection of philosophy and behavioral science. More information can be found at .

We invite you to explore this intersection at our second online tandem talk titled  ‘Humanity and Vulnerability: Generative AI in the Market and Society’

between the philosopher  (Professor of Philosophy, University of California Santa Barbara) and the behavioral scientist  (Assistant Professor of Marketing, Harvard Business School).

The online talk will take place May 15th at 6-7 pm CET (12/noon EST).

In this conversational discussion, Colin will draw on his recent work on developing wisdom about (and in?) AI and explain his view on why developers and users are often poorly calibrated to the actual capacities of AI systems. Julian will present his studies on chatbots and mental health to draw insights into the health risks of generative AI.

Together, we hope to spark new – and deeper – thinking about AI in the marketplace, inspire new research questions, and confront both the potential and limits of rapidly-changing technologies.
