, a registered 501(c)3, created a live case competition using Johnsonville as the client for your marketing research and/or marketing analytics courses in the Spring ’24 semester. The competition is open to both graduate and undergraduate courses.
What do students have to do for this competition?
Students will have one semester to analyze secondary data provided by the client. Additionally, students will collect and analyze primary data (students determine the method) regarding the client RFP. Finally, students will write a final report and submit it to the competition. The client, as well as a panel of judges, will identify the top three grad and undergrad teams. Winners are awarded cash prizes.
Sneak Peek into the Challenge
Research Question: Understand why Millennial Young Families are slower to adopt sausage consumption than previous generations and what barriers and opportunities among these groups could be addressed with existing business tactics, messaging, and/or new products.
Each student team will be assigned one of six sub-categories of Johnsonville sausage products. This way, not all teams are researching the same topic. They will be similar; all are sausage products, but different enough that they can stimulate conversation in class.Â
The Marketing Research Case Competition was created by ., who used to work in the marketing research industry and now teaches marketing research in the classroom. The case is set up with support throughout the semester so that students (and professors) will receive secondary data and a brief to help them read the reports. Additionally, the client will record several videos to help answer questions that the student teams have.
