IBRS 2024: 1st International Business Research Symposium

In this first edition of the IBRS 2024 Symposium will be held at the School of Business Administration at Al Akhawayn University, Morocco. The theme of this edition will be “Doing Research that Matters” applied to Business disciplines in general.

Submission Guidelines

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:

Finance & Accounting:
Track Co-chairs: Dr. Maryem Naili, Dr. Ehtesham Abbasi

The Finance & Accounting track welcomes research that explores innovative financial models, risk management strategies, and accounting practices. Accepted abstracts may delve into topics such as algorithmic trading, blockchain applications in finance, or the impact of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors on financial decision-making. Researchers might present studies on the effectiveness of financial regulations, the role of artificial intelligence in financial forecasting, or advancements in forensic accounting techniques.

Marketing, Digital Analytics, Social Media:
Track Chair: Dr. Yassine El Bouchikhi

In the Marketing, Digital Analytics, and Social Media track, accepted research could cover a wide range of contemporary marketing challenges. Abstracts may focus on the integration of artificial intelligence in marketing campaigns, the impact of digital analytics on consumer behavior, or social media influence on brand perception. Research on personalized marketing strategies, the effectiveness of influencer marketing, and the role of augmented reality in advertising could also be featured.

Economics & Quantitative Methods:
Track Chair: Dr. Murat Doganlar

The Economics & Quantitative Methods track invites research that applies rigorous quantitative methods to address economic phenomena. Accepted abstracts may include studies on macroeconomic trends, econometric modeling of financial markets, or the application of game theory in strategic decision-making. Researchers might explore the economic implications of emerging technologies, analyze the effectiveness of economic policies, or investigate the role of behavioral economics in shaping market dynamics.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management:
Track Co-chairs: Dr. Jawad Abrache, Dr. Malek Sarhani

This track is open to research that advances the understanding of logistics and supply chain management. Accepted abstracts might cover topics such as supply chain resilience, the integration of IoT in logistics, or sustainable supply chain practices. Researchers could explore innovations in last-mile delivery, the use of data analytics in optimizing supply chain operations, or strategies for mitigating disruptions in global supply chains.

Information Systems, Business Analytics & AI:
Track Co-chairs: Dr. Hayat El Asri, Dr. Lakshmi Goel

The Information Systems, Business Analytics, and AI track encourages research on cutting-edge technologies and their business applications. Accepted abstracts may include studies on the impact of artificial intelligence on decision support systems, the role of blockchain in secure information management, or the ethical considerations of big data analytics. Researchers might present innovative applications of business intelligence tools, advancements in cybersecurity, or case studies on successful digital transformation initiatives.

Management, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, OB, HRM:
Track Co-chairs: Dr. Mohammad Ikram, Dr. Abderrrahman Hassi

In the Management, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, OB, and HRM track, accepted research spans various aspects of organizational behavior and management practices. Abstracts could focus on leadership styles in the era of remote work, the impact of organizational culture on innovation, or strategies for effective talent management. Researchers might explore entrepreneurship in the digital age, the psychology of decision-making in management, or the role of diversity and inclusion in human resource management

Organizing committee

Dr. Onur Ozsoy, Symposium Chair
Dr. Ozsoy is a full professor of economics at the School of Business Administration, Al Akhawayn University. He got his BA degree in economics from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir/Turkey, MA degree in economics from University of Missori-Kansas City. He obtained a Ph.D. from State University of New York-Binghamton with specializing areas of Industrial Organization and Public Regulation and Monetary Theory and Policy. He has conducted many projects, directed master’s theses and Ph.D. dissertation.

Dr. Olayemi Abdullateef Aliyu
Dr. Olayemi is an Associate Professor in Marketing at the School of Business Administration, Al Akhawayn University. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing Management from University Utara Malaysia (UUM).

Dr. Issam Benhayoun
Dr. Benhayoun has a PhD in International Accounting (IFRS) from ENCG-Fez and a master’s degree (ENCG diploma) in Accounting and Financial Management from ENCG-Kenitra. Currently, he is a part time professor at School of Business Administatation (SBA) – Al Akhawayn University (AUI) and an assistant professor (full time) at ENCG Meknes

Dr. Takeda Margaret
Dr. Takeda is a visting management professor at the School of Business Administration, Al Akhawayn University. She has been working for CSUSB conducting research and teaching with a passion to live the reality of an international life. Dr. Takeda has worked in over 90 countries.
