Call for Expressions of Interest

Host University and Co-Chairs for 2025 and 2027 Transformative Consumer Research Dialogical Conference

Transformative Consumer Research (TCR) is a movement that seeks to encourage, support, and disseminate research that contributes to the wellbeing of consumers, environments, and societies across the world. For more information on the history and activities of TCR, see

As we approach TCR’s 20th anniversary in 2025, we continue to accelerate timely, rigorous, and practical insights on a diversity of wellbeing topics, using interdisciplinary approaches, and methods rooted in consumer behavior, marketing, and the social sciences to positively impact society. We would also like to plan ahead for TCR 2027 for greater continuity across conferences.

Our dialogical conference is a unique space where groups of researchers and stakeholders who share commitments to social issues come together to engage in democratic dialogue and collaborate on research.

Who can host and co-chair?

We invite expressions of interest from academic institutions that share our values and goals and are committed to organizing this important event. This requires a venue that can support about 300 researchers and practitioners in 40 track breakout rooms. We are also seeking enthusiastic and dedicated teams of academics to serve as co-chairs for the conference.

We will review expressions of interest looking for co-chairs who have TCR experience, universities that can support the dialogical conference format, innovative conference ideas, and good locales for international travelers. We will then ask the best host candidates to submit full proposals.

– Villanova University (2015, 2009)
– University of Lille (2013)
– Baylor University (2011)

Evaluative Criteria

We anticipate that the expressions of interest would be 1-2 pages and would touch upon the following topics:

• Brief University/Institution and geographic information
• Co-chair qualifications and commitment to TCR’s mission as well as experience with TCR or similar conferences
• Innovative elements that can enhance the conference
• Facility availability and suitability
• Ease of access/airport proximity
• Administrative support availability

Submission Deadline

The deadline for expressions of interests is September 1st. Please send your completed proposal to TCR advisory chair, Martin Mende (mmende@business.fsu.edu) by this date. We will invite full proposals to the best candidates by October 1st.
