Call for Nominations – Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Consumer Research

The Policy Board of the Journal of Consumer ResearchÌý(JCR) is seeking nominations for the role of editor-in-chief (EIC) for the next editorial term beginning on January 1, 2025, and ending on December 31, 2028.

JCR is one of the most prestigious publications in the field of social science research today. The editor serves as an important intellectual leader for a vibrant multidisciplinary field of scholarship, significantly affecting the range of topics discussed in the domain of consumer research.  Candidates must have an outstanding record of scholarship in the discipline of consumer research and must be committed to ensuring and preserving the interdisciplinary nature of JCR. The editorship is a volunteer position, but the Policy Board will provide an annual budget to support the editorial team in their stewardship of JCR.

Nominations, including self-nominations, should be submitted in a letter of no more than two pages. The letter should provide details of the qualifications of the nominee and be accompanied by a recent CV. Unlike previous editor selection processes, there is no need to provide the names of potential co-editors during this initial phase of the nomination process.

The Policy Board will screen nominations in October. Finalists will be asked to prepare a more detailed proposal, and finalist interviews will be conducted in late 2023 or early 2024.
