Technological Adoption and Digital Business Strategy in the Time of the Crisis developed progressively and become vital in academic research and management practice in new normal. The playing field for managers and entrepreneurs has changed and become progressively complex due to the technological advancements and social issues they have to deal in the current international market. Artificial intelligence has been used to create pathways into the private spaces of consumers allowing the application of Big Data Analytics as a tool to monitor and interact with consumers, businesses, competitors and every other stakeholder to improve business performance. Being computer savvy has become a must at all levels of the workforce. But, technological advancements are not the only ones challenging traditional management and organisational theories. Concepts like open innovation, the share economy and sustainability are also pushing practitioners to think innovatively.
ÌýResearch studies that have discussed social development challenges have failed to consider challenges faced by managers. There is scant recognition of the gap that exists between academics and practitioners. Therefore, it becomes a moral obligation for scholars to address this need for understanding the significance of technological advancements and big data analytics for innovation and socio-economic development of society. We have limited understanding of how big data will help firms to understand the needs of society, their stakeholders, streamline administrative complexities and identify new business opportunities when the circular and sharing economy has become more pervasive around the world. Therefore, it is important to know how organisations and their stakeholders can improve management practices and organisational strategies, resources and capabilities to succeed in maximizing the value of these new possibilities and, especially, what part business education can play. At present these questions remain unanswered.
The book will act as a forum for examining current and future trends different phenomenon related to management and their technological adoption. This book will encourage academics and practitioners to use a multi-disciplinary approach to boldly bring together bodies of related knowledge to produce new insights. So, the aim of this book is to grasp the business strategy from technological adoption perspective by aiming to contribute to the knowledge of organisations and their stakeholders, their organisational strategies, resources and capabilities to succeed in maximising the value of new possibilities (through digital transformation in play).
