Volume 20, Special Issue on:
Artificial Intelligence and Marketing
Sudhir and Olivier Toubia
Guest Editors of the Special Issue

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is having a profound impact on marketing. This special issue seeks to summarize the current state of the art of the literature on AI that is relevant to marketing, and thus provide a roadmap and agenda for future research in the field. As such the summarization should cover the literature published in marketing, computer science, economics and psychology as appropriate for the relevant topic.

Contributions on various aspects of AI and marketing are welcome. The special issue is looking for review papers that provide an organizing framework to integrate current research on a topic (or a set of related topics), in order to propose an agenda for future work in marketing. Topics can include specific methods (e.g., machine learning methods, multi-armed bandit problems, reinforcement learning, NLP, computer vision, topic models, multimedia analytics, representation learning, generative models, causal ML), domains of use (e.g., pricing, advertising, retailing, sales and innovation), applications (e.g., recommendation systems, personalization, content generation, forecasting, social listening, identifying customer needs), and broader issues related to AI (e.g., managerial trust, explainability, consumer response to AI, impact on marketing organizations and societal issues such as privacy, fairness and accountability).

Authors should submit their manuscripts as a Word file (please use ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø formatting) on or before Feb 1, 2022 to the guest editors, K. Sudhir (k.sudhir@yale.edu) and Olivier Toubia (ot2107@columbia.edu). The papers are expected to be around 30 pages in length (double spaced, 12 point font). The editors may invite manuscripts from some authors on select topics. The editors recommend that all authors submit a 2-page proposal by September 30, 2021, so that authors can be aware of potential overlaps and wasted effort can be avoided. All manuscripts will be processed through a double-blind review. Final drafts will be due on June 30, 2022.
