The American Academy of Advertising is proud to welcome its newest Fellow, Dr. Marla Royne Stafford.
Election as Fellow is the most prestigious honor given by the Academy. While other Academy recognitions honor members for outstanding achievement in a single area (e.g., teaching excellence, outstanding research, and distinguished service), the designation of Fellow is for a lifetime of achievement in the advancement of advertising scholarship, education, and service to the discipline.
Dr. Marla Royne Stafford is Executive Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and the William F. Harrah Distinguished Chair at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.Ìý Prior to joining UNLV, she was Interim Dean and Great Oaks Professor of Marketing at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis, as well as Chair of the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management..Ìý Marla is Past-President of the American Academy of Advertising, past Editor-in-Chief of theÌýJournal of Advertising,Ìýand the 2016 recipient of the AAA’s Ivan Preston Award for Outstanding Contribution to Advertising Research. She is also a two-time recipient of the University of Memphis Alumni Association Award for Distinguished Research in Business and Social Sciences, and in 2018, she was recognized as one of the Superwomen in Business by the Memphis Business Journal. She currently serves as an Associate Editor of theÌýJournal of Advertising ResearchÌýand theÌýInternational Journal of Advertising. Dr. Stafford’s research has been published in theÌýJournal of Advertising, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Advertising Research, American Journal of Public Health, Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,Ìýand numerous other publications.
