We are pleased to announce that the 2021 蹤獲扦夥厙 IOSIG Lifetime Award recipient is Rajdeep Grewal, Townsend Family Distinguished Professor, Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Professor Grewal is an internationally recognized scholar with a sustained record of research excellence and originality. Professor Grewal has made major contributions to many lines of interorganizational research, and he has consistently pushed the boundaries of our knowledge of interorganizationa phenomena, for instance by examining new and complex organizational forms such as two-sided markets and online platforms. He has written path-breaking conceptual articles, and also made significant methodological contributions. An example of the latter is his 2015 Journal of Marketing article, which, according to one of his nomination letters, has become the go to source for how to handle endogeneity. He has published more than 50 articles in premier journals, both in marketing and other fields, and his articles have more than 13,000 Google Scholar citations. His work has won formal awards, including the 2020 Sheth Foundation/Journal of Marketing Award, the 2012 Louis W. Stern Award, the 2013 and 2107 Donald R. Lehmann Award, and the 2016 Vijay Mahajan Award. Professor Grewal has mentored a large number of doctorial students who have gone on to have highly successful academic careers in their own right. He has also provided important service to the marketing discipline, for instance by serving as Associate Editor for the Journal of Marketing and the Journal of Marketing Research, as Editor-in Chief for the Journal of Marketing Research, and as Research Director for the Pennsylvania States Institute for the Study of Business Markets.
The selection committee for the 2021 award was comprised of Jan Heide (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Gary Lilien (Pennsylvania State University), and Shantanu Dutta (University of Southern California).
