IMM Special Issue Symposium: Applying B2C Research to Explain Industrial Buyer Behavior

Symposium/Workshop dates: April 1 2, 2021

Submission deadline: January 15, 2021

Theme: Following the call for papers for the special issue titled Bridging the Nexus between B2B and B2C Research to Explain Industrial Buyer Behavior in Industrial Marketing Management (click this link for details: ), we are delighted to invite authors working in this growing area or planning a submission to this special issue to present their research during a two-day virtual symposium and paper development workshop on April 1-2, 2021.

The symposium/workshop is in line with the IMM special issues theme and topics, as mentioned above. Authors who intend to submit their manuscript to this IMM special issue are encouraged to attend the symposium, which aims to provide authors a chance to receive feedback and constructive comments from peer researchers and the special issue guest editors. That said, participation in this event is not obligatory for authors that aim to submit to the special issue.

Aims and Goals:

  • Meet and share research on B2B buying behavior with special issue guest editors and other researchers.
  • Enable authors to present, discuss, and receive feedback on their papers before final submission to the special issue.
  • Improve the quality of papers and ultimately maximize authors prospects when submitting their article to the special issue.

Although the symposium will focus on the IMM special issue, all researchers in the area of B2B buying and industrial buyer behavior are welcome to attend and disseminate their knowledge and cutting edge research findings.

Submissions Process:

Authors can choose to submit either an abstract (5 double spaced pages) or a full paper to the symposium/workshop. Research in any stage is acceptable. Thus, both work-in-progress and working papers are welcome, including conceptual papers, papers with partial or no data collected, or papers awaiting data collection.

PDF submissions are preferred, and all authors should include a cover letter indicating interest in submitting their work to the special issue. (Note: Authors who wish their paper be considered for the IMM special issue will still need to submit their article through IMMs online submission system before the July 1, 2021 deadline. Such papers will undergo a full peer-review process per IMMs review guidelines.) Only those who intend to attend the symposium/workshop should submit their paper. Rejection of an abstract or a full paper from the symposium/workshop does not mean authors cannot subsequently submit to the special issue.

All authors should submit their papers for the symposium/workshop via email to one of the symposium co-chairs.

The deadline for paper submission is January 15, 2021. The symposium will be free of charge and held fully online.

Acceptance will be based on the relevance of papers to the theme of the IMM special issue, the level of contributions to this broad area of research, and the overall quality of the submission. The symposium’s co-chairs will notify authors of papers accepted for presentation at the symposium/workshopby March 1, 2021. Authors of accepted papers will be provided 15 minutes to present, followed by a discussion for 5-10 minutes depending on the number of papers accepted for presentation.
