Eric Schwartz and I wrote a case study on Blue Apron which you might find useful as a classroom resource. It could be helpful to faculty looking for a real world exercise on retention and CLV measurement, what they imply, and/or strategies that could be pursued to improve them. It comes with a Powerpoint deck, Excel companion, and example discussion and homework questions. It has been used at over a dozen universities (MBA core and more analytical electives courses) and feedback has been very positive. A link to the case is here:
