The MASSIG Emerging Scholar Award is given to honor the contributions of a researcher in the earlier stages of their academic career who tackles societal issues of significance that substantially advance our understanding of these issues. Stacey was chosen for her rigorous scholarship which focuses on self-regulation and decision-making in the contexts of healthcare. Her work is not only theoretically relevant but of great practical significance for individual and societal well-being. The publication of her work in top tier outlets such as Management Science, Journal of Consumer Research, Business Ethics, Appetite and Social Science and Medicine which span domains demonstrates both the quality and relevance of Stacey’s work to our greater society.
Her work is driven by a desire to help others. At the individual level, these outcomes range from selecting healthier foods to assessing reactions to physician scheduling and wait times. Her work is recognized by her appointment to the editorial review boards of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing and the Journal of Consumer Affairs, journals whose stated purpose is to further the marketing field’s impact on issues of importance to society.
Stacey’s substantive contribution so early in her career epitomizes the highest ideals of ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø’s Marketing & Society SIG. Please join us at the 2019 Marketing & Public Policy Conference in Washington DC to honor Stacey’s achievements.
