3. Journal of Marketing Best Paper Awards

Selected by a record turnout of JM’s AEs, ERB, and Advisory Board, the finalists for this year’s Journal of Marketing best article awards were truly outstanding (see a complete list here). Committees selecting the winners were comprised of Coeditors and Advisory Board members. In the areas of long-term marketing impact (Sheth/JM Award), theory development in marketing (Hunt/Maynard Award), or the advancement of marketing practice (MSI/Root Award), these papers were judged to offer the field the highest level of contribution:

  • Sheth/JM Award: Manjit S. Yadav and Paul A. Pavlou (2014), 78 (1), 20-40.
  • MSI/Root Award: Xuan Liu, Savannah Wei Shi, Thales Teixeira, and Michel Wedel (2018), 82 (4), 86-101.
  • Hunt/Maynard Award: Nathaniel Hartmann, Heiko Wieland, and Stephen L. Vargo (2018), 82 (2), 1-18.

The authors will be honored at the in Chicago and will present in a special session on Friday, August 9th from 4:15-5:30PM.

6. Journal of Marketing – Research Development Workshops

We recently completed workshops at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Tsinghua University. Both events focused on developing research ideas about real-world marketing questions and problems and were attended by several hundred faculty and Ph.D. students. Thanks to Flora Gu and Fine Leung (Hong Kong Poly U), and Yubo Chen and Yacheng Sun (Tsinghua University) as well speakers, moderators, faculty support, and all of the participants for making the events a success.
