The Academy of Marketing Science Announces New Editor for the
Academy of Marketing Science Review

The Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Stephen L. Vargo will be the incoming editor-in-chief for the Academy of Marketing Science Review (AMS Review). Stephen will begin processing manuscripts as of June 1, 2019. We extend our appreciation to outgoing editor, Manjit Yadav who has helped AMS Review grow in stature and importance within the marketing literature, and we know that Manjit and Stephen will work together to make the transition go as seamlessly as possible.
Dr. Vargo is Professor of Marketing, and the Shidler Distinguished Professor of Marketing, in the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Professor Vargo brings extensive publishing and editorial experience to the role. He has edited or coedited special issues and special sections for 17 journals including the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and MIS Quarterly. He also serves on the Editorial Review Boards/Advisory Boards of 17 journals including the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing, and the Journal of Service Research. During his career, he has 100+ publications, over ninety percent of which are conceptual.
As a part of the editor transition, Professors Vargo and Yadav will be collaborating to ensure a smooth editorial transition and a continuation of the initiatives currently in place at the Academy of Marketing Science Review. The journal will continue to expand the number of articles published annually as it moves toward becoming the foremost facilitator and outlet for theory development in the domain of marketing.
