Tie Strength
Introduction
Ella Bruce seeks unpublished work on the effect of strong vs. weak social ties on consumption-related outcomes
Dear colleagues:
I am currently working on a meta-analysis comparing the effect of strong versus weak social ties on consumption-related outcomes.
- Strong social ties include close friends, family members, and significant others.
- Weak social ties include work colleagues, more distant friends, and club members.
- Consumption-related outcomes include the intentions to or acts of generating or transmitting word of mouth, intentions or acts of purchasing, information seeking behaviour, information adoption behaviour, and consumer choice.
At this point, I am looking for working papers and unpublished work that has social ties as an independent variable and consumption related outcomes as a dependent variable. I would also be very thankful if you would be willing to share your preliminary or advanced results in this area.
Should you know of any colleague who is researching the impacts of social tie strength on consumption-related outcomes, please pass this call for information along.
Thank you in advance for your help.
