Thomas C. Kinnear/Journal of Public Policy & Marketing Award

Kristen L. Walker’s article, “Surrendering Information Through the Looking Glass: Transparency, Trust, and Protection," which was published in the Spring 2016 (Vol. 35, No. 1) issue of JPP&M was awarded the 2018 Thomas C. Kinnear/Journal of Public Policy & Marketing Award. Kristen’s research sheds light on the dilemma consumers consistently find themselves in: the time and attention it takes to understand how their data is used outweighs the immediate gratification of social interaction.

Kristen Walker is a Professor in the Department of Marketing at California State University Northridge.

Since 1993, the editorial board of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing (JPP&M) has annually presented a prestigious award for the outstanding JPP&M article.
