Search for New Executive Officer of the Society for Consumer Psychology

The Society for Consumer Psychology is seeking applications to fill the role of Executive Officer. The Executive Officer reports directly to the Board of Directors, and as such, is responsible for assisting, advising and working with the Board of Directors on all matters relating to SCP. The Executive Officer is responsible for the operation and management of the SCP office including all records management, but most importantly, financial management and recording. He or she also works closely with the website team to maintain the SCP Website and related functions. SCP publishes two journals and the Executive Officer is responsible for the overview and primary communications between SCP and all publishers. Finally, the Executive Officer works closely with the Board and conference chairs to select and manage our highly successful conferences.

Given the role of the Executive Officer, the successful candidate must be a critical thinker who possesses strong problem solving skills and adapts to changing and unforeseen circumstances. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong negotiating skills, and a commitment to the fiscal health of the organization are essential. A Master’s degree is required, PhD is preferred. It is our expectation that the new Executive Officer will be ready to take over completely on January 1, 2019. Compensation ($40K-$45K) commensurate with experience.
