Forecasting Methods and Principles

Introduction

Scott Armstrong and Kesten Green invite additions to their meta-analysis of papers using experimental methods to assess forecasting

Our Working Paper, “Forecasting Methods and Principles,” was posted on ResearchGate in mid-July and has over 11,000 “Reads” so far on ResearchGate. Based on a message from ResearchGate, we believe that this paper will have more “READS” in the US than any other paper on ResearchGate this year. Given the high interest, we want to ensure that it is correct, and comprehensive. An updated version is available .

We expect that many of the findings will be new to you, so we are hoping the learn about experimental papers that conflict with our findings –or that support our conclusions. (We do not include non-experimental papers in our search of methods.) Please let us know if we have overlooked any relevant findings by you or others. The checklist on regression analysis should be of particular interest.

We have a firm deadline for this invited paper of December 18 for delivery, so we would need your inputs by November 21 at the latest. (It is an invited paper so reviews or suggestions should go to me.) We will acknowledge any substantive suggestions that we use so you can share the blame or conceal your identity, whichever you choose.
