The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø's Consumer Behavior SIG calls for nominations for its Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Research in Practice awards; Deadline 2 Oct 2017
The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø CBSIG is proud to announce THREE awards, which will be bestowed on winners at the 2018 Winter ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Educators’ Conference. We are seeking nominations for the CBSIG Rising Star Award, the CBSIG Lifetime Achievement Award, and a new award, the CBSIG Research in Practice Award. Details on all three awards are below – nominate someone today!
ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø CBSIG Rising Star Award
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The Consumer Behavior Special Interest Group (CBSIG) of the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø (ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø) welcomes applications for the CBSIG Rising Star Award. This award honors a doctoral student scholar who demonstrates a bright future in consumer behavior research. Nominees (self--nominees welcomed) must meet the following criteria:
- Advanced doctoral student or candidate in marketing, advertising or psychology in good standing at an AACSB university.
- Demonstrated research productivity (e.g., presented a conference paper, published a journal article). An ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø conference or journal is plus.
- Applications must be in one pdf document including:
- Current curriculum vitae.
- One signed recommendation letter from your dissertation chair or other faculty advisor to attest for the nominee’s research impact and contribution in consumer research.

The winner will receive a plaque at the 2018 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Winter Conference and will be featured in the CBSIG newsletter. The winner will be notified by mid-November. We look forward to your application!
ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø CBSIG Lifetime Achievement Award
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The CBSIG of the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø (ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø) welcomes nominations for the CBSIG Lifetime Achievement Award. This award honors a marketing scholar who has contributed significantly to the field of consumer research. Past winners include Lynn Kahle, Jim Bettman, Richard Lutz, Linda Price, and Don Lehmann. Nominees (self–nominees welcomed) must meet the following criteria:
- Faculty in marketing, advertising or psychology
- A significant body of work in developing and advancing consumer research
- Articles in ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø journals
- Active membership in ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø during the majority of one’s career
Nominations should include a current curriculum vitae and a cover letter from the nominator (self–nominees welcomed) as to why the nominee is a good candidate for the award.

A committee comprised of members of the CBSIG Leadership Team will determine the winner. The winner will receive a plaque at the 2018 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Winter Conference and will be featured in the CBSIG newsletter. The winner will be notified by mid-November.
ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø CBSIG Consumer Research in Practice Award
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The CBSIG of the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø (ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø) welcomes nominations for the CBSIG Consumer Research in Practice Award. This award recognizes a scholarly research article that contributes significantly to marketing practice. The inaugural 2018 award is based on articles that appeared in a refereed journal (including but not limited to Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of the Association for Consumer Research, and Journal of Consumer Psychology) in calendar year 2016. The winning article must meet the following criteria:
- Rigorous scholarly research
- Addresses an important marketing managerial issue
- An explicit objective of contributing to marketing practice
- Strong and compelling marketing implications
- Potential applicability across a range of products, services, and/or industries
Nominations should include a PDF of the article and a brief cover letter from the nominator (as to why the article is a good candidate for the award).
