Marketing Analytics and Big Data Conference

The  invites you attend the Marketing Analytics and Big Data Conference. This conference is part of a Chicago-Columbia-Stanford rotating Big Data conference.  The event is geared toward academics using state-of-the-art quantitative methods to study marketing problems. Given the multidisciplinary nature of modern marketing analytics, we welcome scholars from all fields (marketing, economics, statistics, and computer science).

The conference will span 1.5 days. During the afternoon of day one, , a Professor of Computer Science and Statistics, Columbia University, will present the tutorial: “Variational Inference.”  The second full day will consist of a plenary session of academic paper presentations and discussants.

Dates: Friday, September 15 to Saturday, September 16

Cost: $150. PhD students attend at no cost, with recommendation letter from an advisor. Send letters to Amanda Eckler.

Call for Papers

Please submit your paper (must have at least a draft of a paper to submit) by May 1, 2017. Faculty (no doctoral students) must present the paper at the conference. Email submissions to .

We encourage new research that spans boundaries to address important marketing science topics. We are open to the use of different research methodologies and we are particularly interested in innovative combinations of methods, including machine learning, structural models, natural language processing, field experiments and others. Relevant theory papers are welcome. We welcome methodologies that scale to large numbers of observations and variables. We also encourage the use of various sources of data, including structured as well unstructured data.
