Conference Overview:

The Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP) and the Japan Association for Consumer Studies (JACS) are collaborating on a conference, to be held in Tokyo, Japan on May 18 and 19, 2017. The goal of the conference is to foster the cross-fertilization of ideas, facilitate connections, and spur collaborations between SCP and JACS members on topics of mutual interest. JACS was founded in 1993 and currently has over 600 members. Similar to SCP and ACR, JACS members focus on theoretical and empirical research on consumer behavior. If you have ever wanted to visit Japan, this is your chance!

There will be a welcome reception on Wednesday, May 17. On Thursday, May 18, attendees will visit Japanese companies and the Ginza District, followed by a conference dinner. The presentations will take place on Friday, May 19 at Keio University. Attendees are invited to stay for the annual JACS conference on Saturday, May 20.

The conference theme is "Consumer Research with Conceptual and Substantive Impact". All consumer-focused research is welcome, particularly research on consumers and technology, cross-cultural research, consumer satisfaction/customer experience, and consumer decision making and choice. Presenters will have first priority in registering for the conference. Registration will then be open to anyone interested in attending until the attendance cap is reached. Due to space constraints, the conference will be capped at 60 attendees.

The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2017. We will send notification of acceptances by the end of February, 2017. Detailed instructions for submissions are available at the conference website at
