Call for Nominations: Editor-In-Chief of Journal of Public Policy and Marketing

The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø (ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø) invites nominations for the next editor-in-chief (EIC) of the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing (JPPM). The individual selected for the position will serve a four-year term beginning July 1, 2017.

JPPM is ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø’s premier journal dedicated to the publication of scholarly research on issues at the nexus of marketing and public policy. Articles published in the JPPM contribute to an understanding of the role of marketing that arises from and leads to public policy decisions, legislative and regulatory actions, and judicial decisions. The Journal publishes articles on a wide-range topics including, but not limited to antitrust, business and government, consumer vulnerability and protection, economic development, ecology, globalization, ethics and social responsibility, innovation, intellectual property, nutrition and health, privacy, regulation and deregulation, and safety and security. Qualifications and major criteria for evaluating candidates include:

  1. Recognized authority in the area of marketing and public policy
  2. Evidence of outstanding service in capacities such as reviewer, area editor and/or associate editor
  3. Evidence of administrative ability
  4. Philosophy, vision and ideas for improving the quality of the journal
  5. Willingness to make the time commitment.
  6. Agreement to operate within ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø policies and strategic guidelines
  7. Commitment by the potential EIC’s employer to provide resource support

Nominations for EIC, including self-nominations, should include the EIC nominee’s CV and should be sent to Dr. Rajan Varadarajan (Vice President of Publications – ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Journals and Chair of the Search Committee), either by e-mail or surface mail, no later than August 15, 2016. The Search Committee will contact all candidates nominated to ascertain their interest in being considered for the position. Following a review of the credentials of the interested EIC nominees, the Committee will invite three or four EIC finalists to submit a more detailed, final round proposal.
