2016 Mahajan Award for Lifetime Contributions to Marketing Strategy Research

The Marketing Strategy SIG is delighted to announce Prof. Rajdeep Grewal as the winner of the 2016 Mahajan Award for Lifetime Contributions to Marketing Strategy Research. A three member panel of past award winners found Prof. Grewal’s contributions to Marketing Strategy as highly impactful and deserving of this year’s Mahajan Award. A 1998 Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati, Professor Grewal is The Townsend Family Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Dr. Grewal previously served as the associate research director for the Institute for the Study of Business Markets.

Dr. Grewal has made exceptionally strong academic contributions on a variety of topics at the core of marketing strategy. He uses quantitative methods to theoretically and empirically examine a variety of phenomena such as social networks and social interactions, competitive strategy, and the role of marketing within an organization. His research has appeared in the leading marketing, strategy, and information systems journals and it has been recognized with multiple awards including the 2013 Donald R. Lehmann Award and the 2012 Louis W. Stern Award. He currently serves as an area editor of the Journal of Marketing and the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø has selected him as the editor-in-chief designate of the Journal of Marketing Research.

Grewal is the 17th winner of this award since its inception.
