The Consumer Behavior Special Interest Group (CBSIG) of the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø (ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø) is pleased to announce Richard Lutz as the recipient of the 2016 CBSIG Lifetime Achievement Award. The award honors a marketing scholar who has contributed significantly to the field of consumer behavior. Additionally, recipients should show a strong affiliation with ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø via publishing in ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø outlets and serving in ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø leadership roles.
Rich is the J.C. Penney Professor of Marketing at the University of Florida. Among Rich’s many accomplishments include being honored with the 2010 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø/Irwin/McGraw-Hill Distinguished Marketing Educator Award, being selected as an ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Fellow in 2015, serving as editor of Journal of Consumer Research (1988-1990), and serving as president of the Association for Consumer Research (1988). Rich’s involvement with ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø is also noteworthy. He has published seven articles in Journal of Marketing and four articles in Journal of Marketing Research. He has been a continuous ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø member since 1967. During that time, he was awarded the 1974 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Doctoral Dissertation Award and has served as the 1985 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Winter Educators Conference Co-chair, the 1990 Sheth-ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Doctoral Consortium Co-chair, and as the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Vice President of Publications (2008-2011), among many other ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø responsibilities.
Rich will be honored at the CBSIG reception of 2016 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Winter Marketing Academic Conference in Las Vegas. The reception will take place from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27 at Caesars Palace Las Vegas.
