The Greek Marketing Academy and the Global Alliance of Marketing and Management Associations is pleased to announce the 2016 GMA-GAMMA Joint Symposium on “Marketing in a Period of Recession” to be held at the 2016 Global Marketing Conference in Hong Kong. We are interested in providing opportunities to share research findings and conceptual papers that explore and investigate issues related to marketing in a period of recession.
In the face of an on-going post-global financial crisis characterized by unpredictable trading conditions both worldwide and in the Asia-Pacific region, the purpose of this GMA-GAMMA Joint Symposium is to provide insights regarding the important contribution that marketing makes to company’s competitiveness during recession periods. Marketing in a recession presents its share of challenges, but it also presents opportunities for companies that are prepared to work creatively and go after them.
Through a series of scholarly presentations, the Symposium participants will explore and investigate the challenges and opportunities of the marketing function during economic downturns. Topics will include changes in both consumer/business behavior and marketing practices during economic recession and the major goal of this Symposium is to reveal the best marketing practices as they apply to all elements of the marketing mix.
