Workshop on Designing Experimental Studies, February 15th – 17th, 2016 in Heilbronn, Germany

Dear colleagues,

the German Graduate School of Management and Law (GGS) organizes a series of seminars for doctoral students and post-docs with an interest in research methodology. This course on Designing Experimental Studies will provide clear insights into the usefulness of experiments for testing research hypotheses. The aim is to develop an understanding of the logic behind an experiment as well as to give ideas and hands-on advice on how to run experiments. The workshop will be conducted in a highly interactive manner and will provide numerous examples taken from recent publications and small case studies to promote conceptual knowledge as well as practical application of experimental research.

Instructor

Nicole Koschate-Fischer is Professor of Marketing and holds the GfK Chair of Marketing Intelligence at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Professor Koschate-Fischer holds a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in psychology. She received her Ph.D. and habilitation from the University of Mannheim, Germany. Her areas of expertise encompass Pricing, Consumer Behavior, Market Research, and Innovation and Product Management. Her research has been published in the leading journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. She contributes regularly to academic and practitioner conferences and cooperates with multinational companies from different industries.

Registration

The course will be held from February 15th – 17th, 2016 at the German Graduate School of Management and Law (GGS) in Heilbronn, Germany. Interested candidates are asked to send their application including a short letter of motivation no later than January 1st, 2016 to researchmethods@ggs.de. Applications will be reviewed and the candidates will be informed until January 11th, 2016. The number of participants is limited to 20 students. The course fee of 300 Euros includes registration, tuition, coffee breaks and drinks as well as lunch. Cancellations after registration are only partly refundable.
