Introduction

Marketing & Public Policy, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 20-23 Jun 2016; Deadline now 4 Dec

MPPC 2016 Call for Papers Deadline Extended

The Marketing & Public Policy Conference (MPPC) is the premier national and international event for marketing academics, public policy makers, and marketing practitioners interested in social and public policy. This year’s conference theme, Fostering Change for Communities and Society, highlights the ability of policy efforts to impart change at both the community and societal level in ways that impact the lives of consumers and the quality of our society. As such, our theme recognizes the many issues that call for greater research, debate, and action—from the local to the global level and all points in between. We welcome the submission of work addressing significant issues at the intersection of marketing and public policy. Research helping to understand or ignite change—such as through policy making, business practices, or collaborating with grass-roots community efforts—is especially encouraged. The deadline to submit a paper or propose a special session has been extended to December 4, 2015.

The conference will be on June 23-25, 2015 and held on the campus of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. This has been named the happiest city in America. Visit ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø.org/PublicPolicy to learn more about the host city and it’s unique status as a living laboratory for many public policy initiatives.

Co-chairs for the conference are Brennan Davis, California Polytechnic State University and Beth Vallen, Villanova University

Also, please be aware of the 2016 Marketing & Public Policy Workshop and Doctoral Seminar

June 20 – 23, 2016 Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo

The intensive four-day workshop is held just prior to the 2016 Marketing & Public Policy Conference. The workshop is intended to increase the number of scholars and the quality of research within the marketing and public policy domain by providing doctoral-level education and mentorship with accomplished junior and senior researchers in the field. Participants will have the opportunity to hear talks, receive feedback on research, interact and socialize, and identify new research ideas and directions along with these researchers and mentors. Apart from a nominal registration fee, costs to doctoral students (transportation to/from home location excluded) are subsidized through the generous support of sponsors.
