Ian Wilkinson and coathors have used Google Scholar to compare citations for over 2,000 marketing academics in 500 universities
How do marketing researchers compare internationally? In an open access paper in the latest issue of the Australasian Journal of Marketing

we compared the citation metrics for over 2000 marketing academics in the top 500 universities in five countries (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK and the USA) to get an answer to this question. We did it using Google Scholar for papers published from 2001 to 2013. As part of the analysis we ranked the top 100 university marketing departments. As far as we know this is the first international comparison of this type and scale.
