Charles M. Futrell, Emeritus Professor of Marketing, Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University, passed away on 25 Oct

It is with great sadness that as colleagues and friends, the faculty of the Department of Marketing, Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, share the news that Dr. Charles M. Futrell passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014.

Dr. Futrell earned his BBA and MBA degrees from the University of North Texas and his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. During his academic career spanning four decades, Dr. Futrell published extensively in leading scholarly journals and authored books on personal selling and sales management that were widely adopted at colleges and universities worldwide. Among the honors that he received are the Texas A&M University Association of Former Students Distinguished Teaching Award, ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Sales Special Interest Group Lifetime Achievement Award, ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Sales Special Interest Group Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Sales and Marketing Executives International Marketing Educator of the Year Award. In a 1991 article, the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management ranked Dr. Futrell as one of the top three sales researchers in America. Dr. Futrell joined the faculty of Texas A&M University in 1976 and retired in 2014.
