Teradata Teaching Resources

Introduction

The Teradata Marketing Applications software suite is available to faculty for classroom use

Hello Marketing Faculty!

What an exciting time this is.  With the news media and industry representatives are talking about the importance of data-driven marketing and the necessity of preparing students for careers in this area, we have a lot of pressure to incorporate marketing analytics in our classes.

The good news is that we now have a repository for materials that can be used to address this issue.  Teradata, the analytic data platforms, marketing applications and services company, has sponsored  (TUN) for a number of years.  Marketing analytics has become an important part of TUN by providing background material, videos, case studies, and software activities for faculty to use in class.  Faculty need to register but registration is free.

Now there is also an opportunity to have students engage with industry marketing automation software.  The  is now available through TUN with demonstrations for the classroom and activities for students.  These initial exercises have been developed so that you need not have any previous experience with the software to do the demonstration in class.  You can also assign in-class or homework assignments to your students that they can complete with no previous experience with the software.

In addition, the new  will connect you with articles, power point presentations, videos, and case students describing how companies use analytics to understand customers, create marketing strategies, communicate with consumers, and/or assess results.  These resources can be used to provide background and context for your discussion of analytics in class.

Finally, be sure to check out . Business Scenario Investigation videos (BSI videos) are short descriptions of a business problem, the analytics used to understand the issues, proposed solutions, and business results.  There are teaching notes and power point presentations prepared specifically for marketing faculty to accompany the videos.  You can use whatever combination of tools work for your class.

With this variety of material you can confidently include lectures, examples, demonstrations, and/or homework assignments to begin including data-driven marketing analytics topics in your classes this fall.

We encourage you to add materials that you find helpful in your classes to make this a dynamic, leading edge repository of materials for marketing faculty.

Cheers,
