Special Issue: Consumer Goods and Meaning in the New Millennium.

Interdisciplinary interpretations of the meaning of objects in the new millennium increasingly dominate the media, popular culture, and academic research. This special issue, co-edited by Joseph Scarpaci and Sara Beth Keough, will examine interpretations of the meanings of material culture that go beyond the journal’s traditional focus on landscape, and explore the material world(s) of consumer goods and objects both in vernacular and modern spheres of consumptions.

Manuscripts should be, jargon-free, 6000-8000 words in length, have a solid foundation in relevant theory and literature, and may contain up to 8 black and white images that are illustrative of the manuscript’s key points. All manuscripts MUST adhere to the submission guidelines available at:
