Call for Submissions
Dear Friends and Colleagues:
We are delighted to announce that submissions from industry practitioners and academic scholars are now being accepted for the third (CHRS), set for October 12 – 14, 2014, at the . The theme of this conference is "The Future of Service Innovation: The New Science of People, Organizations, Data and Technology." Innovation is essential to the continued health and well-being of hospitality and related service industries now and in the future. We believe the time has arrived for innovation in services to be discussed and explored rigorously. The goal of this conference is to examine service innovation in a new light, focusing on what new ideas, tools, techniques, technologies, processes and structures hospitality firms need to prosper in a time of accelerated global change.
Innovation must be self-sustaining and profitable within hospitality and travel firms; hence the focus of the conference is multidimensional, including data analytics, a deeper understanding of customers and approaches to engaging employees, the role of technology, service delivery systems, and new product development, to name but a few areas for possible exploration.
The mission of The Cornell Hospitality Research Summit is to provide a forum for thoughtful discussion and the sharing of research and insights. CHRS 14 will strive to refine a body of knowledge and advanced practice in service innovation. We want to convert the knowledge generated by research into practices that will advance the industry’s innovativeness. It’s important to note that much understanding can be obtained from the industry, and a critical aspect of this Summit is to encourage the synergy that comes from the cross-sharing of ideas in community.
Researchers in both industry and academe are invited to submit proposals for presentations, panels, tutorials, and workshops related to the conference theme, and then plan to attend. The CHRS dates of October 12-14 are timed for the beautiful autumn scenery in upstate New York.
Submissions will be accepted between now and March 1, 2014. Additional information about the call for papers is at , and Summit details are found at: .

What made prior Summits so successful was the high level of interaction among industry and academic participants and the quality of the presentations and informal interactions. So, we encourage you to send us your presentation proposal so that this year’s Summit will be even stronger.
Sincerely,
Cathy & Rohit
